In Praise of Billy & Paula – Selwyn’s Very Own Racing Warriors!
Blimey, we’re a sporty lot, or at least some of us are! Read on to find out about Billy Jones who recently entered Total Warrior, and Manchester office manager Paula who completed the Race for Life.
Selwyn’s Billy Takes Part in Total Warrior Challenge
On the 26th June, Selwyn’s Financial Controller, Billy Jones, took part in the Total Warrior challenge.
The challenge took place in Bramham Park, a picturesque stately home situated in West Yorkshire. Total Warrior is a race that see’s participants from all over the world competing in the event, and battling their way over 30 obstacles, through 10 tons of ice and a whopping 100 tons of mud!
Completing the event is a huge personal achievement of course, but Billy and his team mates have raised funds for Mind, a mental health charity. Mind provides advice and support to those experiencing a mental health problem, as well as campaigning to improve services and promote understanding of mental health conditions.
Everyone at Selwyns would like to congratulate Billy and team mates!
Manchester Office Manager, Paula’s fluttered her way through the Race for Life!
On the same day, 26th June, Selwyn’s Manchester Office Manager, Paula Wilson-Grady, took on the Race For Life 5k.
Along with her team mates, ‘The Fizz Fairies’ (Paula insists she didn’t choose the name!), Paula joined thousands of others at Tatton Park in Cheshire to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Race for Life is a series of fundraising events for women only, organised by British charity Cancer Research UK. They involve running, jogging, walking or even skipping a course and raising sponsorship for doing so. The money raised funds cancer research in all 200 types of cancer.
Everyone at Selwyns and particularly the team at the Manchester office, would like to congratulate Paula and the Fizz Fairies for taking part.
