Safer With Selwyns

Selwyns Travel have a strong commitment to the safety of our passengers, staff and members of the public. As well as investing in onsite training of our policies and procedures, we have several  features in place to ensure we can give you the safest service possible, as well as the best value for money.

Professional, fully DBS checked drivers

All our drivers undergo checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service, and participate in ongoing proffessional training. This is delivered by our own in house training manager, who ensure they are up to date on our policies and procedures, and fully equipped to give you the best possible experience on the day!

All vehicles fully fitted with seatbelts

Passenger safety is of the upmost importance! All of our vehicles are fully fitted with two or three point seatbelts, just one of the reasons why we hold the BUSK Benchmark.

24/7 breakdown support service

Our inhouse team of engineers work tirelessly to maintain our vehicles and keep them in tip top condition. They also provide our 24/7 breakdown support. We were recently awarded the Engineering Gold Standard in the National Express Operator Awards.

Drugs and Alcohol testing

Prior to a driver commencing the walk round check of the vehicle, they must undertake a breath test. While there is a legal limit for driving, we will only take a result of 0 as a pass.  We have a zero tolerance on this policy – if a driver does blow a positive result the employment of that driver will be terminated. In addition to this we operate random drug testing throughout the company.

CCTV on all of our vehicles

In addition to our existing safety measures including driving behaviour monitoring hardware, all vehicles are fitted CCTV. This further ensures the safety and security of our passengers and staff.

Live vehicle tracking system

We are very excited to introduce our new  “Where Is My Coach?” system – this enables you to see a live map indicating the location of your coach.

The backing of several industry bodies

Our commitment to quality and safety is part of what qualifies our membership of several recognised industry bodies, including the “Belt Up School Kids” campaign and the Guild of British Coach Operators.
